India is such a huge and geographically diverse country, it has a huge range of weather conditions. The best time to visit India is November through to march . During the early part of the year in the southern plains it can extremely hot making travel difficult. Also India has a ranging monsoon which at certain time can dump phenomenal amounts of rain in one area. The monsoon usually happens in June through to august. Some tourist towns completely close during this monsoon low season.. Lhadak is not affected by the monsoon itself, but rain in the surrounding areas can shut down the roads. In the northern parts, Lhadak and Sikkim November through to January can be extremely cold.
