At theses border points you can connect with buses or trains to enter into India depending on which direction you plan on travelling in.

Sikkim
The main entry point to Sikkim Is Gangtok, its capital city.

By Road.
You get to gangtok by jeep from Siliguri which is near the border of Nepal. It’s a four and half hour windy and bumpy drive. You can also take a jeep from Darjeeling. Trains also run to the trail head at New Jalpaiguri from all over India. From there you can connect with a jeep.

By air
The only way to get to Sikkim by flight is to fly to Bagdogra airport in west Bengal and connect with a share jeep for the 5 hour trip up to Darjeeling, or you can also connect with the helicopter service direct to Gangtok.

Dharamsala and Ladahk

You can take a bus to Ladakh, the services are frequent, but if you want to go further afield you have to connect with local share jeeps and taxis. You can fly to Leh, the nearest airport; it’s also the highest airport in the world.

Dharamsala can be reached easily from Delhi by using the overnight tourist bus. Bus services also connect to Shimla, Leh, Lahakh and Manali.
